The Missing Link - Chapter 1-1

“Ugh… My head…” Link slowly pushed himself into a sitting position and looked around. He was sitting in a soft bed in a plain bedroom. However, there was technology that was way beyond what he was used to. “Where… Where am I?”

“Oh, Link!” a strange voice called out. “Thanks goodness you’re okay! You just passed out at lunch today, so I thought something was wrong with you.”

Link looked over the woman. She had blue eyes and dark blue hair - probably dyed. “Uh… Sorry to have worried you?” It’s funny, Link thought. I've never seen her before, but… She seems so familiar, somehow. “Uh… Do I know you?”

The woman blinked and gently place a hand on his forehead. “Maybe you hit your head… Why don’t you go see the professor? He’s not doctor, but he might be able to help.”

Professor? “Uh… Sure.” He got out of bed and quickly changed into a white t-shirt and worn out jeans, throwing a green flannel shirt on over it and pulling on a pair of brown boots.

The boy left the house and looked around. He found a white building with windows the reveled some science-y machines. This was probably the Professor’s house. He walked inside and hesitantly called out. “Um… Hello?”

Some old man walked into the front room, looking over some papers. He looked up and smiled, taking the young boy’s hand. “Hello there! Link, right? Sorry, I don’t really get out much.”

“You can say that again, gramps!” a young, male voice called from the back room.

“You hush up, Gary,” the white-haired man called out to him. “Now, what can I do for you?”

Link blinked and, after sitting down at the table, told the professor his story.

“So… You’re from another world?” The professor shrugged. “Sorry, kid, but I’ve no idea how to help you. However, perhaps the Champion does.” He looked towards the back room. “Hey, Gary! Bring me Blaze!”

“The… The Champion?”

The professor smiled warmly. “He’s the strongest trainer in all of Kanto,” he began to explain. “He knows a lot about most everything. If anyone knows how to get you home, it’d be him. However, the only way to get to him is to take on the Pokemon League.”

The boy from the back room walked out with a large, winged, orange dragon-like creature following him.

“What in the name of Din is that?!”

“It’s called a Charizard,” the boy commented, rolling his eyes. He looked at the professor. “Gramps, are you sure about this? You won’t even let me take the league challenge and I’ve been helping you research for years.”

“Trust me, Gary,” the old man replied. He looked at the creature called Charizard with a caring look on his face. “Blaze, I know I’ve given out a lot of your children in the past month, but I must ask once more.” The creature glared at him. “Vine and Hydro’s kids aren’t strong enough, yet. Sorry.”

The Charizard walked back into the back room.

“Poor girl,” the professor sighed. “Knowing that, if she gives her kids to new trainers, she may never see them again…”

The Charizard walked back, carrying a small lizard in her arms. She put in in Link’s arms, staring into his eyes.

Link blinked and looked over at the professor. “How will this help me?”

He chuckled. “You’ll see. He’s still young, but he’ll grow, much like you will, through this journey.”

Link blinked and walked out, carrying the lizard.

Gary looked at his grandfather before returning to the back room.

About time I finished this x3 Good thing it's not a comic, because it took me almost a month to get through one picture. Imagine how long a page would be
