Description

Before we moved on, Mijaru told me to train up Lizzy a bit. When I gave her a blank stare, she explained that if she defeated a couple Pokemon south of Viridian City, she’d gain some levels and get stronger. I agreed, not knowing how long I would be in this world.

Lizzy was reluctant at first to battle the Pokemon in the route we caught her in, but she got used to it soon enough. She soon was able to take care of the Pokemon here without Mijaru’s help. When she started to use her wings to kick up dust, I figured it was time to catch a new team member.

Mijaru told me that we should go to Route 22. Mijaru hasn’t done anything to make me doubt her yet. I checked the map and saw that Route 22 was west of Viridian City. We healed up Lizzy and were about to head out when Mijaru told me to go to the PokeMart.

I shrugged and walked in, Mijaru on my left shoulder. Lizzy decided to wait outside for us. I grabbed the items the lizard told me I would need, paid for them, and walked out.

The first Pokemon we found was a small purple thing. I had Lizzy weaken it and I threw a PokeBall at it, just as I had done for Lizzy. This was the first guy on our team; although, considering how long we’ve been traveling, it wasn’t saying much. He called himself Lyle.

Lyle wasn’t as happy to join our team as Lizzy was. In fact, I got the impression that he hated all of us. Mijaru most of all.

(Leveled up Lizzy to level 6 and she’s learned Sand Attack. Then went west of Viridian to catch Lyle the Rattata, Level 2, Adamant nature, strongly defiant. He doesn’t like anyone on the team yet, least of all Mijaru. Who knows, maybe that will change. Maybe not XD)
