A Different Path - Chapter 1-6

I looked around as we entered Feldspur City. There were policemen everywhere. “We should probably lay low for a bit.”

Marco looked up at me. “I think there’s a gym in this town. Unfortunately, it’s a water type gym, so I’ll be close to useless.”

I smiled and hugged him around the neck. “You’ll never be useless to me, Marco. Every Pokemon is special in his or her own way.”

“Aw, ain’t that sweet,” I turned around to see Jessica walking towards me. “I think I’m getting a little teary eyed. So, Elli. Did Fluke get any stronger?”

“His name is Luke. And he did.” She just laughed. “Don’t believe me? Let’s have a battle.”

Jessica smiled smugly. “With pleasure.”

I let Marco take out her Rattata, Zubat, and Grimer. Luke wanted to save his strength for her Ekans.

“Hello again, pussssssssy-cat,” the snake Pokemon hissed.

“Sup?”

“Lisssssten… Nothing againsssssst you, but my masssster wantsssss me to fight you…”

He smiled. “Then we’ll fight.” He scratched at the snake, landing a critical hit. OH’KO.

“You call that a fight, Luke? It kind of seemed like a slaughter.”

Luke smiled up at me. “It’s fine. He’s faking it so that he doesn’t have to fight back. The hit may have been real, but him being knocked out isn’t.”

Jessica glared at me. “You win this round. Next time you won’t be so lucky. Good luck at against Sandy, loser.” She walked off, her Pokemon in their Pokeballs again.

Luke growled. “Sometimes, I just want to give her a piece of my mind…”

I chuckled. “I wish you could, too. Anyway, since the only one of you that can effectively do anything against this upcoming gym is Luke, why don’t we go to the North to find a new team member?”

Turns out, there was no grass up North, so we couldn’t catch a Pokemon. However, we met a friend of Giovanni’s.

We walked into his house only to be greeted by a Clafairy. “Hey, you’re in Team Rocket, right?” I nod. “I thought so. You kind of look like Giovanni… Anyway, a girl from that gang came and fidgeted with my machine while I was doing maintenance. Could you help me out?”

After I helped him out, he told me that Jessica ran off with his ticket to get on the S.S. Park. He gave me a pistol to get it back with. When I showed some concern, he told me it was empty. Perfectly harmless.

I stayed the night before heading off the next morning.

Second battle Jessica, Nugget Bridge (wasn't shown, but it happened), and Bill. I didn't get a ticket to get on the ship, but I got a weapon? Seems legit...
